The players’ insistence on winning against Al-Arabiya made me happy.

Al Nasr achieved a difficult victory over Al Orouba, the day before yesterday, in the second leg of the first round of the Professional League Cup (Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup), with a score of 2-1, after being behind by a goal at home and in front of its fans at Al Maktoum Stadium, to score two goals and advance to the quarter-finals amidst the joy of Al Nasr fans who were close to saying goodbye to the first championship of the current season, before the historical scorer Ali Mabkhout was able to save his team with an equalizer in the 54th minute, while Glauber Lima added the second goal (90+7). In appreciation of the good level he presented during the match, Mabkhout was chosen as the best player in the match by the Professional League Association.

Al Nasr had faced Al Orouba in two matches, the first in the first leg of the League Cup, and they tied goalless in Fujairah, before Al Nasr won the first match in the league against Al Orouba 5-1 at Al Maktoum Stadium.

For his part, Al-Nasr’s Dutch coach, Alfred Schroeder, confirmed his happiness with the victory over Al-Orouba.

Schroeder said in press statements after the match: “It was a very strong match, and it was not like the match we played against Al-Arabiya in the league championship. The opponent played a great match and pressed in the first half, but we succeeded in coming back in the second half and scored two goals. I am happy with the victory and advancing to the second round.”

He added: “The most important part is the determination shown by the players in the second half and their desire to score and win. We must invest this victory in the upcoming matches, especially with the presence of distinguished players who are ready to be on the field. We must thank the players for what they have presented.”
