The “Emirates Handball Cup” competitions, which were recently unveiled, sounded the alarm about the level of scoring capabilities of national players, after the competition witnessed high goal scoring rates for foreign players registered in the seven clubs that participated in the tournament, which has a negative impact. On the scoring percentages of the national player when he joins the national team.

The 21 matches of the “Emirates Cup” competition witnessed a total of 1,069 goals scored, of which 556 were signed by national players, compared to 513 goals scored by 16 foreign players included in the clubs in their three categories (professional – resident – newborn), at a rate of 48%, in an indicator that reflects the approval of the devices. The technical role of these elements is to assume the tasks of the offensive positions in the team, especially at the level of the circle player, playmaker and scorer, and leave the rest of the roles to the citizen player, especially the wings and defensive roles.

Sports analyst and former handball coach, Dr. Muhammad Abdel Razzaq, confirmed that the national team is negatively affected by the low rates of the citizen player in scoring goals with his club, as a result of his not participating in certain positions that enable him to score goals, and leaving this task to foreign players.

He told Emirates Today: “Foreigners scoring 48% of the goals in the Emirates Cup competition has a negative impact on the national player, who has become far away from the important positions that allow him to continue scoring and making goals, and therefore there is a negative impact on the national team in its entitlements.” Foreign Affairs.

The first 14 places in the list of scorers in the “Emirates Cup” were signed by the foreign element, as the Egyptian Maliha professional, Mohamed Ali Omar, topped the list of scorers, with a total of 53 goals, five goals behind the second-placed professional in the ranks of the Cameroonian Dibba Al Hisn Club, Hubert Mendo, while the first elements came. Al-Watana is on the list of scorers in 15th place, represented by Al-Nasr player Mohamed Gomaa, with 24 goals.

Abdul Razzaq explained: “The back positions on the circle, whether the playmaker or the scorer, represent the strengths on which the team relies in scoring goals, and these are positions dominated by foreign players, compared to leaving the duties of the wings and defensive roles to the national players, which makes the national player not appear at the required level.” When he joined the national team, especially in playmaking and scoring goals, and thus the success rates in scoring goals in the national team’s matches in his external entitlements decreases.”

The Dibba Al-Hisn trio of Cameroonian Hubert (48 goals), Egyptian Mohamed Afifi, registered in the birth category (42 goals), and Congolese Burrell Grace (21 goals), scored 72% of Dibba Al-Hisn’s total goals in the tournament, which amounted to 156 goals.

The percentage of Al-Nasr foreigners came in second place, amounting to 57%, due to Tunisian professionals Mohamed Ghazi and Hani Bin Al-Kamel scoring a total of 33 and 32 goals, respectively, in addition to their compatriot Wassim Bin Al-Noubi, who is registered in the newborn category, scoring 26 goals, for a total of 91 out of 159 goals scored. Al-Ameed players gathered together over the course of their six matches in the tournament.

It is noteworthy that the Sharjah Club was the most brilliant at the national level, with its national players scoring 97 out of 181 goals, which created the third title in a row for the “King”, and the seventh historically in the “Emirates Cup” competition.
