The General Civil Aviation Authority reported yesterday that the Director of the Security Information and Threat Assessment Department in the Authority’s Aviation Security Affairs Sector, Abdullah Rashid Al-Hamoudi, was elected as Chairman of the Civil Aviation Security Committee in the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council, during the committee’s meeting that was recently held at the Secretariat’s headquarters. Public office in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
Al-Hamoudi was elected by unanimous votes of the committee members, in a step that reflects regional confidence in Emirati competencies and their ability to lead vital issues in the civil aviation sector.
The Director General of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Saif Mohammed Al-Suwaidi, said in a statement to the authority, “The election of Abdullah Rashid Al-Hamoudi to head the Aviation Security Committee of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council reflects the distinction and importance of the skills possessed by Emirati cadres and their ability to contribute effectively to strengthening civil aviation security.” In addition, it is an affirmation of the confidence enjoyed by the UAE by our brothers in the Arab Gulf countries, and the strength of fraternal relations and constructive cooperation between member states.”
