The UAE chairs the Metrology Council for Islamic Countries


The UAE won the presidency of the Metrology Council of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Standards and Metrology Institute (SMIIC) for the period 2025-2027, during the meetings held in Istanbul. The UAE was elected to membership in the Board of Directors, the Standardization Council, and the Accreditation Council, during the 19th meeting of the General Assembly of the Institute for Standardization and Metrology for Islamic Countries, as this is the third successive victory for the quality infrastructure system in the UAE, after the country won membership in the Board of Directors of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). ISO), and the Board of Directors of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) during the past two months, in support of the strategic goals of the UAE and its role as a major supporter of innovation in the region.
