The UAE has made qualitative steps to enhance awareness of environmental and climate issues


The head of the Energy Department in Abu Dhabi, Dr. Abdullah Hamid Al -Jarwan, stressed that “the UAE has made qualitative steps in increasing awareness of environmental issues and climate change, and encouraging society to rationalize the consumption of energy sources and optimal use of renewable resources.”

Al -Jarwan said, in a statement, that “the celebration of the land watch that corresponds to the last Saturday of March of each year translates the attention of the world’s governments and the commitment of institutions and members of societies and joining with each other for the joint action for positive and responsible dealing with the climate crisis, and the studied and serious pursuit of a real change and a concrete impact on the environment in a way that is consistent with the goals of sustainability.”

He pointed out that the Energy Department supports the “Earth Hour” initiative to provide practical and innovative solutions that depend on advanced technology and artificial intelligence to preserve natural resources through the policies and organizational frameworks issued by it, in addition to its support for national initiatives that seek to preserve the environment as part of our national identity.

He added that the Abu Dhabi Energy Department attaches great importance to supporting global efforts to enhance the behaviors of good consumption in daily life, and highlight the importance of climate work, and invites creators and people with pre -emptive thought and innovators to put forward models, ideas and practical solutions to confront the repercussions of climate change. He pointed out that what the world is witnessing during the Earth hour confirms the importance of integration and concerted efforts between various sectors to achieve the desired goals, and work to reduce energy consumption and reduce carbon emissions, calling on individuals and companies to participate in this global initiative by adopting innovative and advanced solutions that preserve the environment to ensure a sustainable future for our future generations.
