The meeting was held at the invitation of the sister Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan as part of its hosting of the Aqaba ministerial meetings to discuss developments in the situation in the Syrian Arab Republic.

His Highness also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for calling for the expanded meeting and all the brotherly and friendly countries participating in it, with the aim of supporting the unity, security and stability of Syria and its people.
