The Women’s Cricket World Cup starts today


Dubai is witnessing the organization of four international tournaments out of 15 diverse international and local competitive and community sporting events, held in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council in various regions of Dubai during the current week, led by the Women’s Cricket World Cup (T20), the Women’s Rugby World Cup Qualifiers, and the “MIFT” conference. Pro Health and Fitness, the first regional Special Olympics modern sailing championship, and the qualifiers for the Premier Paddle P1 Dubai International Championship.

The Women’s Cricket World Cup (T20), organized by the International Cricket Council, in cooperation with the Emirates Cricket Council, begins today at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai Sports City, in addition to the matches being held in Sharjah from October 3 to 20, with 10 teams competing. In 23 matches, Dubai will host the final match.

The Dubai Sports Council said in a press statement: “The WXV3 World Championship qualifying competitions for the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup continue at The Sevens stadiums in Dubai, with six teams from different continents participating: Hong Kong, Fiji, Madagascar, the Netherlands, Samoa and Spain. The tournament continues for three weeks.

The MEFIT Pro Health and Fitness Conference and Exhibition, the largest educational sports gathering in the Middle East, begins today and is held at the Marriott Hotel on the Palm Island and concludes the day after tomorrow, witnessing the attendance of more than 1,400 participants from 39 countries.

The competitions of the first regional modern sailing competition for the Special Olympics, organized by the Dubai International Marine Sports Club, continue until next Sunday, and six Arab teams participate in it: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Morocco, and Syria, in addition to the Emirates team.

The qualifiers for the “Premier Paddle P1 Dubai International” tournament, organized by Gallup Global, will begin tomorrow at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium. It is part of a series of tournaments that includes 25 rounds, spread over 18 countries on five continents, with 256 male and female players participating.

The Hamdan Sports Complex will host the Open Academies Swimming Championship and the Al Habtoor Show Jumping Championship at the Al Habtoor Polo Club and Resort, and the Ultimate Running Race will be held at the Dubai International Academy in Emirates Hills. The 555 Run will be held at Dubai Science Park, the Spence Community Run will be held at Meydan Racecourse, the Ignite Duathlon Running and Swimming Championship will be held at the Anantara Palm Hotel, the Dubai Harbor Run, and the Coast Road Run will be held in the Al Barari area. The Trail Seeker Mountain Bike Challenge and Gravel Bike Mountain Bike Challenge races will be held in Mushrif Park, and the Caddy Championship competitions will begin within the sixth Labor Sports Tournament in the Garhoud area.
