Dubai Ports Group “DPDDRED” has launched an advanced solution for electric vehicles in Jebel Ali Port, in partnership with “Enraide”, which represents a big step towards removing carbon emissions from container stations operations.
The group stated, in a statement, yesterday, that the first batch of the fleet of electric vehicles is currently operating around the clock, and is scheduled to transport more than 204,000 containers annually, to support the efforts of the “DB World” aimed at accelerating the shift towards more intelligent and sustainable logistical services.
In the context of a partnership between “DBDDDDD” and “Inraide”, it was signed in May 2024, this project aims to convert container handling operations inside the stations to operate with electric power in the port of Jebel Ali, the largest sea port in the Middle East, in line with the sustainability agenda in “DP and Recess” in its broader scope, which includes converting its fleet from the internal vehicles in the stations to operate with electrical energy, and conclude innovative partnerships It aims to reduce carbon emissions.
This initiative will contribute to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 14.6 thousand tons compared to diesel operations, which supports the goals of the “DBDDDD” of science, and its ambition towards facilitating the flow of global trade movement and making it more sophisticated and sustainable.
“The removal of carbon from logistical services is an essential priority for us in Dubai World Ports, where we focus our efforts to transform our operations to operate with electric energy, integrate innovative artificial intelligence solutions, and close cooperation with our partners, such as (Eraid), to support achieving our goals in climate neutrality.”
The fleet of electric vehicles is deployed through multiple stages, which includes the initial stage of the fullest integration of the “Enraide” system, including electric vehicles, shipping infrastructure, and the “Einraide Saga” platform that works with artificial intelligence.
Later this year, the next stage begins with a second batch of trucks in operation to enable the full fleet in 2026 to transport two million stereotypes of 20 feet. This gradual publishing is based on data -based “Einraide” analyzes to improve cost and operational efficiency, while laying the foundations for the deployment of self -driving electric trucks in the future.
