UAE Announces First Nvidia Advanced Chips Arrival as US AI Partnership Expands

UAE Receives First Batch of NVIDIA Chips as 5GW UAE–US AI Complex Advances

UAE ambassador announces arrival of advanced NVIDIA chips, confirming further shipments and progress on the 5GW UAE–US AI complex.

The United Arab Emirates has taken delivery of the first shipment of advanced NVIDIA chips, UAE Ambassador to the United States Yousef Al Otaiba announced in Washington. He said more NVIDIA chips are on the way as the country accelerates a large-scale UAE–US partnership to build artificial intelligence infrastructure. The move forms part of a broader push that Ambassador Al Otaiba described as central to a deepening economic and technological relationship between Abu Dhabi and Washington.

Shipment confirmed at Atlantic Council AI event

Ambassador Al Otaiba disclosed the arrival of the initial NVIDIA chips while speaking at the SCSP AI+ Expo organised by the Atlantic Council in Washington. He framed the shipment as the opening phase of hardware deployments that will underpin the UAE’s AI capacity. Al Otaiba emphasised that additional consignments of NVIDIA chips are en route to support expanding compute needs.

5GW UAE–US AI complex under construction

Officials said work is underway on a joint UAE–US artificial intelligence complex with a planned capacity of 5 gigawatts. Construction of the facility began following a high-level visit by the U.S. president last year, and project teams expect the first 200 megawatts to become operational soon. The complex is designed to provide high-density power and cooling solutions needed to host large-scale AI clusters built on NVIDIA hardware.

Economic commitments and bilateral investment

Ambassador Al Otaiba highlighted significant UAE investment in the United States, noting a cumulative investment figure and an expanded pledge for the decade ahead. He cited that the UAE has invested heavily in U.S. sectors and has committed substantial new capital to deepen industrial, energy and technology ties. Over the past year, more than 30 agreements were signed between UAE and U.S. entities, he said, with much of the new capital directed at accelerating advanced technology deployment.

Jobs and industrial impact in the United States

The ambassador linked the technology partnership to job creation and industrial activity in the United States, saying investments will support manufacturing, energy and infrastructure projects. He argued that building AI capacity requires coordinated investment in power, data centres and supply chains, which in turn generate employment across multiple states. UAE officials framed the partnership as mutually beneficial, providing capital and market access while helping expand U.S. industrial output.

Global reach from an Abu Dhabi hub

Al Otaiba said the new AI infrastructure, anchored in Abu Dhabi, could make American technology available across vast regions, potentially serving up to half the world’s population. He described the model as a means to distribute U.S. technology responsibly and to reach markets with high demand for AI capabilities. UAE officials presented the Abu Dhabi node as a regional access point that combines Gulf energy resources with Western technology expertise.

Technology security and responsible deployment

Speakers at the event stressed that delivering NVIDIA chips and scaling AI infrastructure will be accompanied by governance and security measures. The UAE and U.S. delegations said they are coordinating on responsible deployment, emphasizing standards for data security and operational transparency. Officials indicated that the partnership seeks to balance rapid technological rollout with safeguards that address ethical, regulatory and national security concerns.

The arrival of the first NVIDIA chips marks a tangible step in a fast-expanding UAE–US technology agenda, from investment pledges to the construction of a major AI complex. As additional shipments and the initial 200 megawatts come online, officials say the initiative will accelerate AI capacity in the region while generating industrial activity and jobs in the United States.
