UAE stock markets climb as Dubai and Abu Dhabi add AED55.66bn in market value
UAE stock markets rose sharply as Dubai (+1.83%) and Abu Dhabi (+1.62%) advanced, lifting aggregate market capitalisation by AED55.66bn on broad sector strength and AED2.65bn in turnover.
Markets lift national market capitalisation
UAE stock markets extended gains across both bourses, pushing combined market value from about AED3.874 trillion to roughly AED3.93 trillion. The rise reflected stronger momentum in large-cap names and widespread sector participation during the session. Market data show Abu Dhabi accounted for AED2.938 trillion of the total, while Dubai’s listed equity capitalisation reached AED992.336 billion.
Dubai index led by property and industrial stocks
The Dubai Financial Market climbed 1.83%, adding 107.58 points to close at 5,986.07. The advance was driven by a broad-based upswing in sectoral leaders, with real estate equities jumping 4.4% and industrials up 1.77%. Banking, utilities, telecommunications and consumer segments also registered gains, supporting the benchmark’s upward move.
Top traded names concentrated liquidity in Dubai
Trading in Dubai was heavily concentrated: six companies accounted for more than 77.3% of the bourse’s turnover. Emaar Properties topped liquidity with AED468.85 million traded and a 6.49% price increase to AED11.80. Emirates NBD was second in turnover with AED116.74 million and a 2.37% rise to AED31.94.
Foreign buying supported Dubai inflows
Non-Arab foreign investors were net buyers in Dubai, recording net inflows of about AED158.93 million. Data indicate foreign purchases totalled AED533.22 million against AED374.29 million of sales, signalling renewed external appetite for Dubai-listed names. The broader market attracted more than AED1.01 billion in liquidity on the day, underscoring investor interest.
Abu Dhabi posts steady broad-based gains
The Abu Dhabi index rose 1.62%, adding 160.81 points to finish at 10,101.64, contributing AED38.44 billion to the national market-cap rise. Trading on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange exceeded AED1.64 billion in value as investors executed 30,692 transactions. Volume on the ADX reached 305.13 million shares, reflecting active participation across multiple sectors.
Overall trading activity and market breadth
Across both exchanges, turnover surpassed AED2.65 billion on the session, with total traded volume of 539.77 million shares executed in 50,103 deals. The distribution of liquidity illustrated a two-tier market dynamic: a handful of highly liquid large caps in Dubai and a broader spread of active names in Abu Dhabi. Market breadth remained positive as sectoral advances outnumbered decliners.
Markets analysts said the rally was consistent with improving sentiment in the Gulf region and selective buying in high-liquidity stocks. They noted that the concentration of flows into a small number of names can amplify intraday moves but also provides clear signals about investor preferences. Continued foreign participation was highlighted as a reinforcing factor for market stability and depth.
The session’s gains carried through industry, banking and property groups, while defensive sectors posted more modest increases. Investors monitored liquidity metrics and net foreign flows as indicators of sustainability for the rally. Overall, the session delivered a notable one-day boost to UAE stock markets, with market participants awaiting further catalysts in upcoming corporate announcements and regional economic data.
