UAE Team Emirates rider finishes second in Vuelta a España overall


The UAE Team Emirates rider, Portuguese Joao Almeida, came in second in the general classification of the Vuelta a España, after the conclusion of the fourth stage held on the summit of Que Velorcas, which witnessed more than 3,500 meters of ascent, and in which he achieved third place.

According to the statement issued yesterday by the team, Primož Roglic, a Red Bull Bora rider, topped the fourth stage, while Lennert van Eetvliet, a Lotto Destiny rider, came in second, and João Almeida came in third.

After finishing third in the fourth stage and second in the overall standings, Almeida described the competition as very difficult in the hot weather, but he achieved an ideal position, stressing that he will continue to exert maximum effort in the upcoming stages, in order to achieve better results.
