UAE Team Emirates rider wins first stage of Vuelta a España

American Brandon McNulty, UAE Team Emirates rider, won the first stage of the Vuelta a España today, on the route extending from Lisbon to Oeiras in the Vuelta a España.

The American cyclist beat second-placed Matthias Vasek of the Liddell-Trek team by just two seconds, with Wout van Aert of the Visma-Less-A-Bike team coming in third.

According to the statement of the Emirates Cycling Team, the team’s rider reached a starting speed of 57.197 km/h.

This will be the first time the American cyclist has worn the leader’s jersey in a Grand Tour race.

McNulty said he did not expect to win the stage title, considering what happened to be something fantastic and hard to believe.

Today, the sixth stage of the Tour of Poland concluded, with Italian Diego Ulissi, a rider for the Emirates Team, coming in second, with a slight difference from Thibaut Nice, a rider for the Lidl Trek Team, during the race, which was held over a distance of 183.2 km.

With this result, Ulissi came second in the overall classification of the race, just 13 seconds behind the leader, Jonas Vingaard, rider of the Fimsa Lab team.
