Union Cooperative will sell 27 thousand tons of vegetables and fruits in 2024


Union Cooperative revealed that it will sell 27 thousand tons of vegetables and fruits in 2024, as a result of expanding its agricultural portfolio, which now cooperates with more than 42 local farms of different agricultural styles, including 10 regular farms, 26 organic farms, and six hydroponic farms, in addition to To the vegetables and fruits that are imported to the “cooperative” from various Arab and foreign countries.

The first director of the media department at Union Coop, Shuaib Al Hammadi, said that the “cooperative” provides organic products in all its branches, indicating the increasing demand for these products from consumers.

He added that Union Cooperative is one of the first entities that encouraged national farmers to invest in organic agriculture since 2008, and supported them by displaying and marketing their products in all of its branches spread across the Emirate of Dubai, where it allocated places that accommodate the largest number of local farm products, and highlight them from the public. Through billboards and marketing publications, in addition to the cooperative’s contribution in organizing workshops, periodic meetings, and seasonal visits to farmers to learn about their agricultural plans, exchange experiences and information, and introduce them to farmers. With the best commercial practices, Al Hammadi pointed out that “Union Cooperative” is one of the most prominent cooperatives in the UAE that continuously seeks to diversify production sources and support local farmers to achieve sustainable development in the agricultural sector, stressing that all products supplied to the “Cooperative” are in line with specifications and standards. Established by the relevant authorities in the state, and subject to constant oversight.

He stressed that the “Cooperative” has been keen for decades to support local products of all types and varieties, and to support Emirati farmers on an ongoing basis, by providing great facilities to Emirati farms to encourage sustainable agriculture, in addition to contributing to building sustainable food security.

He also stressed that the “cooperative” is keen to provide the finest types of vegetables and fruits at competitive prices, taking into account the diversity of nationalities of the communities present in the country.
