With the participation of Taarabt.. Sharjah completes the contract for the semi-finalists of the cup

The Sharjah team completed the qualifying round for the semi-finals of the President’s Cup, after overcoming its rival, Bani Yas, with a clean goal in the match that brought together the two sides on Monday evening at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium. Thus, “The King” joins the list of finalists that includes Shabab Al-Ahly, Al-Jazira, and Al-Wasl.

The meeting witnessed the first appearance of the newcomer to the “King” ranks, Adel Taarabt, whose transfer sparked much controversy.
Sharjah owes its credit to its striker Caio Lucas, who scored the only goal of the match in the 78th minute, taking advantage of a cross ball sent to him by his colleague Luan Pereira, and heading it into the net amid a state of confusion in the Baniyas defense line.
The team that won the title 10 times throughout its history, which is the same number of titles for Shabab Al-Ahly, suffered a lot to achieve this victory, as “Al-Samawi” was not an easy prey, as its players threatened the Sharjah goal with a number of opportunities and were a strong opponent throughout the two halves.
The excitement reached its peak in the final minutes amid attempts from both sides, especially from Baniyas, which created dangerous chances that almost changed the outcome of the match. But the brilliance of goalkeeper Adel Al Hosani and the solidity of the defense line played a major role in maintaining the lead result, ensuring Sharjah qualified for the semi-finals.
