Young men attack “Muhammad” with swords

The young citizen, Mohammed Saeed (23 years old), has been lying in the intensive care unit of Rashid Hospital in Dubai, due to suffering from a complete coma, since last Thursday, “following an attack on him by a group of young men, who stabbed him with swords and sharp instruments, dissecting his body.”

Doctors at the hospital performed five delicate surgeries on Muhammad in the head, and he is awaiting further surgeries to treat deep wounds in the abdomen, kidneys, intestines, hands and legs.

The incident began, according to what his mother told Emirates Today, when Muhammad left his home in the “Oud Al Muteena 1” area last Thursday evening, heading to his friend’s house in the “Oud Al Muteena 2” area, to visit him, as some young men in the street assaulted him. After getting out of his car near his friend’s house, the matter developed into an altercation.

The mother continued, “My son was alone, while approximately 15 young men gathered around him, then they beat him, dragged him to their house, and attacked him with swords and sidewalk stones, until blood bled from his head, stomach, and leg.”

She continues: “After that, Muhammad was unable to move, so he fell unconscious on the ground, and his body was injured,” adding that she “called the emergency department upon learning of the incident, and the ambulance took the initiative to transfer Muhammad immediately to the Trauma and Accident Center at Rashid Hospital. He is suffering from a condition.” “His physical condition was bad, as blood covered his body.”

Umm Muhammad confirmed that “the police were able to arrest the assailants after receiving a report of the crime, and their patrols arrived at the scene of the incident, while they are still waiting for Muhammad’s condition to improve to hear his statements about the incident.”

The mother denied the existence of any relationship between her son and the aggressors, but they had previously harassed him during a previous visit he made to the same friend’s house.

Muhammad underwent five head surgeries to treat severe skull fractures, and is awaiting further surgeries to save him from wounds to the kidneys, liver, spleen, and intestines, as a result of being stabbed by sharp objects, in addition to suffering fractures in his arms, and a deep wound in his leg extending to the abdomen.

Umm Muhammad, fighting back her tears, says, “Her son is a polite young man, of high moral character, and everyone testifies to his good behavior,” adding, “I do not know why they treated him with such brutality, and how do the parents allow their children to keep these swords and sharp tools in their homes?” .

For his part, a responsible medical source in the intensive care department at Rashid Hospital told «Emirates Today» that the health condition of the patient (Muhammad) is critical, pointing out that he is currently lying in the intensive care department in the hospital, and is using a respirator, while his condition requires him to undergo care. He added, “(Muhammad) needs additional surgeries that will be performed on him during the next few days, to treat the severe lacerations that affected his body, especially the internal organs (liver, kidneys, and intestines).”
