124.5 billion dirhams, the salaries and benefits of government employees

The employees working in government jobs obtained the local and federal levels in the UAE for compensation, benefits and salaries of 124.5 billion dirhams during the past year 2024, compared to 120.6 billion dirhams during the year 2023, an annual increase of 3.9 billion dirhams, equivalent to annual growth of 3.2%, according to government statistics data for the UAE, which includes the statements of the federal government, In addition to the local governments data, which was issued yesterday by the Ministry of Finance.

The data also revealed that during the past year, the annual revenues amounted to 553.3 billion dirhams, compared to revenues of 546.6 billion by the end of 2023, an annual increase of 6.7 billion dirhams, equivalent to 1.2%growth.

According to the “Finance”, revenues came from several items, which are taxes of 366.4 billion dirhams, compared to 317.2 billion dirhams in 2023, an annual increase of 49.2 billion dirhams, which constitutes a growth of 15.5%.

Among the provisions of revenue as well, social contributions worth 17.2 billion dirhams, compared to 16.4 billion dirhams in 2023, an increase of 800 million dirhams and annual growth by 4.8%.

The rest of the revenues came under the item of “other revenues” worth 169.8 billion dirhams, compared to 213 billion dirhams in 2023, a decrease of 43.4 billion dirhams, and an annual decline of 20.4%.

On the other hand, government spending or expenses during the past year recorded 408.9 billion dirhams, compared to 402.4 billion dirhams in 2023, an annual increase of 6.5 billion dirhams, with a growth of 1.6%.

Government spending or expenses, along with the compensation of workers amounting to 124.5 billion dirhams, included the use of goods and services at a value of 131.9 billion dirhams, compared to 122.6 billion dirhams in 2023, social benefits at a value On the items consumption of fixed capital, interest, grants and other expenses.

It is noteworthy that work in government agencies in the UAE is an attractive choice for many professional stability and job development, as these employees have competitive advantages and salaries, as well as other benefits such as flexible work patterns and various holidays, and rewards and incentives programs.

Salaries differ in the government sector, based on the job degree, qualifications and experience. According to 2022 data, salaries in government agencies ranged between 4000 dirhams with a minimum and 90,000 dirhams.
