3000 brands from Dubai showcasing the latest food industry solutions


Yesterday, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Border Security Council, opened the 10th edition of the Gulfood Manufacturing Exhibition, the most prominent annual event in the world, which covers the entire manufacturing system in the food sector, and is held at the Dubai World Trade Center. In conjunction with the “Gulf Host” exhibition for hospitality and food service equipment.

His Highness stressed that Dubai continues to play a pivotal role in hosting the most important global specialized events, pointing out that the two exhibitions witness the participation of more than 3,000 brands, displaying from Dubai the latest food industry products and solutions.

His Highness toured the Gulfood Manufacturing and GulfHost exhibitions, accompanied by the Director General of the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai and the Director General of the Dubai World Trade Center Authority, Hilal Saeed Al Marri, where His Highness was briefed on part of what the two exhibitions provide as a world-class platform for thousands of specialists in the industrial sector. Food and beverages, and the food service sector from around the world, to learn about the latest trends that shape the features of both sectors, and to conclude high-value deals and partnerships.

His Highness said in a blog post on the “X” website yesterday: “Today I witnessed the opening of the (Gulfood Manufacturing) and (GulfHost 2024) exhibitions at the Dubai World Trade Center, where their activities will continue until the seventh of November. The two exhibitions witness the participation of more than 3,000 brands displaying from Dubai the latest innovative products and solutions in the fields of the food, beverage and food service industry. The event also witnessed the organization of the Food Technology Summit.

His Highness added: “Dubai continues to play a pivotal role in hosting the most important specialized global events, which bring together decision makers and innovators, in order to contribute positively to creating future solutions that advance development horizons in various sectors.”

Following the official opening, the “Food Technology Summit” of the “Gulfood Manufacturing” exhibition was launched with an opening session that discussed companies benefiting from the fields of artificial intelligence, digital transformation and other advanced technologies in the field of food production.

Speaking during the session, Dr. Mark van Rijmenam, one of the most prominent forward-thinking experts, addressed the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on the food industry, explaining its potential in the areas of automation, digital twins, and predictive maintenance. He said: “Artificial intelligence can contribute up to $20 billion to global GDP by 2030.”
