34% growth of commercial transport companies in Dubai during 2024


The Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, Mattar Al Tayer, revealed that the commercial transport sector, which is supervised by the Authority, achieved exceptional performance indicators in 2024, as the number of companies operating in the sector increased from 9,000 companies, to 12,100 companies, recording… A growth of 34%, compared to 2023, and the number of vehicles registered in the commercial transport and logistics sector increased by more than 100 thousand vehicles, bringing the total number of vehicles to more than 400 thousand, registering a growth of 31%, compared to 2023.

He stressed that these results came in light of the Authority’s application of international best practices, improvement of commercial licensing services, development of the regulatory framework and governance of the transportation and leasing activities sectors, in line with global best practices, cooperation and joint work with strategic partners in the sector, in addition to packages of development initiatives for the leasing sector. Cars and others, in line with the vision of the wise leadership to enhance the emirate’s position as a leading global destination for finance, business and economics, and in implementation of the commercial and land logistics transport strategy in the Emirate of Dubai 2030, which aims to double the direct contribution of the commercial transport sector. Land logistics in the emirate’s economy reached 16.8 billion dirhams, increasing the rate of technology adoption in the sector’s infrastructure by 75%, reducing carbon emissions by 30%, and improving operating efficiency by 10%.

He said that the commercial transport activities sector is one of the vital and important sectors, and forms the backbone of the economic and commercial movement in the Emirate of Dubai, and contributes to achieving the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to consolidate the emirate’s position as one of the three best economic cities in the world.
