A census conducted by “Emirates Today” monitored five major educational awards that celebrate teachers in the country, which are:
Mohammed bin Zayed Award for Best Teacher
The “Mohamed bin Zayed Award for Best Teacher” reflects a modern educational philosophy, united in its content and objectives with a clear and profound vision. It also reflects a great and growing interest by the wise leadership in giving education in the United Arab Emirates the required momentum, as the award is based on five well-established criteria: It includes excellence in achievement, creativity and innovation, sustainable development and education, positive citizenship, loyalty and national belonging, and community and professional leadership. The first place winner receives an amount of one million dirhams, second place receives an amount of 500 thousand dirhams, third place receives 300 thousand dirhams, and from fourth place to… The tenth will receive an amount of 150 thousand dirhams for each of them.

This year, the “Khalifa Educational Award” launched the 18th session to continue the process of excellence in the educational field, as the award represents a tributary of the enrichment of the educational field. The award also succeeded in highlighting distinguished teaching and administrative cadres, all of whom have made outstanding contributions to the educational process at various levels. The award has also succeeded in being a bridge for exchanging expertise and experiences between the various elements of the educational process, and each winner in the creative teacher category at the state level receives a financial reward of 75 thousand dirhams, in addition to the award shield and a certificate of appreciation.
Hamdan bin Rashid Award for Distinguished Teacher
The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Performance honors the teacher who exceeds the level of specialized and professional competencies, by granting him the Distinguished Teacher Award. The winner is given a cash reward of 60,000 dirhams, a certificate of appreciation, and a cup of excellence. The Distinguished Educational Award also grants someone who has an innovative work methodology a cash reward. Amount of 50 thousand dirhams, a certificate of appreciation, and a cup of excellence.
«Sharjah for Educational Excellence»
The Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence and Excellence also represents a basic pillar and a pivotal source for promoting the culture of excellence, creativity and innovation in the educational field and the local community in all its categories and segments at the level of the United Arab Emirates. Over the course of 30 sessions, the award strengthened the interest of individuals and educational institutions at the state level, to contribute to the process of creativity and innovation. The winners of the Distinguished Teacher category receive a financial reward of 40 thousand dirhams for first place, second place 35 thousand dirhams, third place 30 thousand dirhams, and fourth place 25 thousand dirhams.
Distinguished Teacher Award
The Department of Education and Knowledge confirmed that it has established the Distinguished Teacher Award in recognition of the vital role played by enthusiastic and dedicated teachers who make all the difference in the classroom. The award includes four categories, including teachers of the early and primary stages, the secondary stage, promoting Arabic culture and language, in addition to teaching students of determination. Each winner receives a cash prize worth 50 thousand dirhams.
