The crisis of depletion of the shelf life of the batteries in smartphones and tablets (Tablet) is repeated, while relying on these devices on a daily basis in various life tasks, through the use of various applications, whether for purposes related to work, study or entertainment.
With the development of phones manufacturing operations, the previous trend in changing batteries has become difficult in light of the transformation of the production of batteries integrated with phones, which can only be replaced through specialized maintenance centers, compared to the forms of previous batteries that could have been easily replaced.
The crisis of the expiration of batteries with phones and “Tablit” devices causes many problems, whether in the usual daily uses, or even the inability to use to use and leave the devices on which personal data and applications that are used on a daily basis.
Two experts specializing in technology identified six tips to maintain the quality of mobile phone batteries and “Tablet” devices, which include removing phones from heat sources, not fully charging in the batteries, avoiding keeping the phones connected to electricity after charging, as well as not always leaving the screen in operation, and lack of intensive use of the phone during shipping, in addition to moving away from the inappropriate shipping devices.
The two experts told «Emirates Today» that it is necessary to observe these advice and guidance, to prolong the shelf life of the batteries of these devices.
“There are many users of the phone and Talalite devices that do not realize the criteria for maintaining the quality of the batteries of their devices, which may lead to the speed of their damage”, pointing out that “one of the most prominent guidelines is to avoid exposing phones and devices to the high temperature continuously, whether through the intensive use of games or applications that cause high temperatures of phones, or leave Phones near sunlight or sources may increase heat with phones in a way that affects the safety of the batteries.
She added, “It is also preferable not to reach the full shipping of the phone batteries with a degree of 100%, but it is preferable to reach only about 80 or 90%, in order to maintain the life cycle of the batteries, and it is also preferable not to leave the phone without charging until it reaches 0%, while intermittent charging is preferred at various times of the day.”
Kim stressed that «it is also important to avoid the continuous use of applications that keep the screen with devices under operation or applications that consume the battery quickly, as the screen closing mode can be activated or closed unused applications, whether (Wi -Fi) networks when there is no signal or when not use or (Bluetooth), or applications that use geographical location, while searching for applications that are not used and deleted continuously.
She pointed out that «the use of fast charging continuously and the use of inappropriate charging devices or poor quality may affect in the long run the efficiency of the batteries of the devices and its shelf life.
For his part, the technical expert, Mohamed Abdel -Haq, said: “One of the common mistakes that affects the safety of phone batteries and (Tablit) devices is to leave these devices on the chargers throughout the night, which leads to consumption of the shelf life of the batteries, and helps the speed of their validity due to the shipping above the required limit and in a way that raises the heat of the batteries in degrees that may reach what may threaten the safety of using batteries with repetition.”
He added that «it is preferable not to use the fast charging of the phones batteries continuously without the need for that, because it leads to consuming the default life specified for the batteries, as it is preferable not to use the intensive phones during the shipping process without a necessary need for that, because it prolongs the shipping period and strain the batteries in the long run with their continued electricity for longer periods.
The 6 advice
1- Keeping the phones from the heat sources.
2- Not fully charging the batteries.
3- Avoid keeping the phones connected to electricity after shipping.
4- Not to leave the screen always running.
5- Intensive use of the phone during charging.
6- Avoid inappropriate shipping devices.
