The two lawyers demanded the acquittal of their client, on the basis of the lack of tangible material evidence convicting the accused. The lawyer said that the security services had been monitoring the accused for more than eight years, and that no evidence was found in the prosecution’s investigations or in the recordings of phone calls that took place between him and members of the Iranian consulate. His involvement in transmitting any confidential or sensitive information that harms the security, safety and interests of the country.
The lawyer demanded that the accused be acquitted of all charges against him, due to the lack of the material and moral elements in the prosecution’s accusations, and the investigation papers and files conducted by the prosecution did not prove any evidence that the accused committed an act of betrayal to the country, or sought to communicate with a foreign country, or transferred secret intelligence information for the benefit of Iran.
