Air Arabia Abu Dhabi launches thrice-weekly direct flights to Amman Civil Airport

Air Arabia Abu Dhabi launches direct flights to Amman Civil Airport from May 1, 2026

Air Arabia Abu Dhabi will operate three weekly direct flights from Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International to Amman Civil Airport (ADJ) starting May 1, 2026, boosting connectivity.

Air Arabia Abu Dhabi announced the launch of direct services to Amman Civil Airport (ADJ), adding a new route between the UAE and Jordan. The carrier will operate three weekly rotations between Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International and ADJ from May 1, 2026, expanding its network in the Levant region. The move positions Air Arabia Abu Dhabi to capture leisure and business traffic seeking additional travel options between the two countries.

New route to Amman Civil Airport

Air Arabia Abu Dhabi’s new route will link Abu Dhabi and the Amman Civil Airport with direct services designed to offer greater choice for travellers. The airline described the launch as a strategic addition that complements its existing operations to Queen Alia International (AMM) in Amman. By serving a second Jordanian airport, the carrier aims to broaden access to different parts of the Jordanian capital and surrounding regions.

Three weekly rotations from May 1, 2026

The service is scheduled to commence on May 1, 2026, with three weekly flights on a recurring basis. The frequency is intended to provide a balance between convenient travel days for tourists and flexible options for business passengers. Ticketing and timetables will be available through the airline’s official channels and travel agents ahead of the inaugural flight.

Air Arabia Group CEO highlights expansion

Adel Al Ali, Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia Group, said the new flights “reflect our continued commitment to enhance air travel and provide more options and convenience for our customers travelling between the UAE and Jordan.” He framed the launch as part of a wider strategy to strengthen connectivity while responding to passenger demand across the region. The airline’s leadership noted the initiative supports broader regional travel links and complements existing services.

Second Jordan gateway after Queen Alia

The Amman Civil Airport service represents the carrier’s second destination in Jordan, alongside its established flights to Queen Alia International (AMM). Serving ADJ allows Air Arabia Abu Dhabi to tap into passenger flows that may prefer a different airport for proximity to northern Amman or specific domestic connections. This dual-airport approach is commonly used by carriers to diversify market reach and provide passengers with more convenient arrival and departure options.

Benefits for passengers and trade

Passengers can expect increased scheduling flexibility for short stays, weekend trips, and point-to-point business travel as a result of the new route. The added capacity between Abu Dhabi and Amman supports tourism ties, family visits, and trade-related travel that underpin UAE–Jordan economic relations. Travel industry stakeholders said additional flights can also stimulate ancillary services such as hotel stays, ground transport, and business meetings.

Operational and network context

Air Arabia Abu Dhabi framed the route as part of ongoing network development, aimed at offering reliable, point-to-point connectivity from Abu Dhabi. The carrier has been incrementally expanding its regional footprint to meet market demand and to capitalise on growing travel flows in the Gulf and Levant corridors. Officials emphasised that schedules will be designed to integrate with existing operations while preserving operational efficiency.

The introduction of the Abu Dhabi–Amman Civil Airport service arrives as regional carriers continue to adjust capacity and frequencies to meet seasonal and year-round travel needs. Industry observers will monitor load factors and passenger uptake in the opening months to gauge longer-term frequency adjustments.

Airline customers are advised to check baggage rules, visa requirements, and arrival procedures for Amman Civil Airport before booking. Travellers should also confirm departure times and any connecting travel arrangements to ensure smooth transfers between airports if needed.

The new direct flights from Air Arabia Abu Dhabi to Amman Civil Airport are expected to offer a practical alternative for travellers between the UAE and Jordan while supporting broader connectivity goals in the region.
