Al-Nasr is preparing to play a heavy-caliber match against Al-Sharjah next Friday in the round of 16 of the President’s Cup, which is considered an early clash and a farewell for one of the two teams, in the match that will be held at Al Maktoum Stadium, then it will face the Omani team Dhofar in the same stadium also on October 22 in a competition. The Gulf Champions League returns to the ADNOC Professional League matches against Al-Bataeh in the sixth round on the 27th of this month.

Al-Nasr raised its score to nine points in the league standings after beating Ajman 3-1 in the fourth round, and the bleeding of points stopped after suffering two losses with the same score against Al-Wasl and Al-Jazira.

Hussein Mahdi told Emirates Today: “The victory over Ajman was very important after suffering losses in two matches, and the team certainly benefited well from this victory, in order to focus on the next match in the President’s Cup. We always look for the positives and address the mistakes the team faces during the matches it loses.”

Regarding the decline in the team’s level in some of the past matches, he added: “There is no specific reason for the decline in the team’s level. Lack of concentration from players only at certain times, and we seek to try to avoid these mistakes, and continue with the positives. We are playing strong matches in the coming period. The President’s Cup and the Gulf Championship are important to us, and we seek to achieve positive results in all matches, and the team is capable of that.”

Hussein Mahdi addressed the Al-Nasr fans: “The Dean’s fans do not fall short, whether in winning or losing, and we promise them the best in the coming period, and to reach, with the Dean, the competition for all championships.”

Hussein Mahdi played five matches with the team in the ADNOC Professional League this season, and did not succeed in scoring any goals, but he made a goal and played an influential role in the defensive midfield position.
