Abu Dhabi Police confirmed that moving vehicles off the road in cases of minor traffic accidents does not affect determining who caused the accident.

She stated that the cooperation of drivers in removing vehicles from the road creates room for other vehicles to pass, does not obstruct traffic, prevents many traffic accidents, and enhances the safety of road users.

She told Emirates Today that she recently launched her traffic awareness campaign, “Safety Path,” and focused on educating drivers about negative behaviors and the serious mistakes they commit on the roads, which pose an extreme danger.

She pointed out that the campaign included 11 axes, including the axis of educating drivers about “getting off the road in minor accidents,” stressing that drivers – who are exposed to minor traffic accidents on the roads in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, whether they caused them or were affected by them – should use the application. “Saaed” is a smart device that helps them identify the location of the accident to the relevant authorities. They must move their vehicles off the road to the nearest safe place and request assistance from the Abu Dhabi Police Command and Control Center.

An Abu Dhabi Police report stated that the roads witnessed in previous years a number of serious traffic accidents, resulting in various injuries, and the main reason for their occurrence was the closure of the roads and obstruction of traffic and traffic, due to the insistence of the parties involved in the minor traffic accident on not taking their vehicles to safe places outside. The road, and these accidents could have been avoided by giving way to other vehicles and not obstructing traffic.

Abu Dhabi Police stated in the campaign guide it issued that when minor accidents occur, the “Saaed” application allows vehicle drivers to request an accident report directly from the accident site, by following a set of simple steps and procedures to complete the data for the person responsible and the injured person, and determine the location of the accident via an interactive map. Details of the accident and the resulting damage will be uploaded within minutes. The procedure ends with confirmation of receipt of the request and issuance of the incident report via smart notifications.

She added that the application facilitates the simple accident planning service quickly within three minutes if the car driver’s documents are available at the time of the accident. This is done by choosing the accident reporting service, and then entering the phone number so that the system automatically determines the location of the accident. Then the application asks the customer to specify the options. Which includes choosing the type of accident, entering a photo of the car ownership and a photo of the driver’s license by taking a picture of them, entering a photo of the car ownership and a photo of the driver’s license by taking a photo of them, entering a photo of the vehicle and the damage it sustained as a result of the accident, along with entering a photo of the other vehicle and the damage it sustained.

Abu Dhabi Police confirmed that the driver, whether he caused the minor accident or was harmed by it, must verify the information entered for the person who caused the accident and the person affected by the accident, add all the vehicles related to the accident and choose “OK” to complete the application process successfully, and in the end the customer is given the application number. She stated that among the advantages of the “Saed” application is shortening the customer’s journey, saving time and effort, and benefiting from modern technologies in the process of planning minor traffic accidents.

Traffic departments punish drivers who do not move their vehicles off the road in the event of minor traffic accidents, with a fine of “obstructing traffic in any way,” worth 500 dirhams.
