His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, chaired the Council’s meeting today (Wednesday) within the framework of His Highness’s continuous follow-up of the Council’s work process and his keenness to evaluate the results achieved in light of the objectives included within its strategy and the subsequent action plans, including It is in line with the objectives through which Dubai seeks to consolidate its leading global position in various sectors, including the media sector, which today represents one of its most important centers in the Arab world.
During the meeting, His Highness praised the efforts made by the members of the Council in order to achieve its goals, which in general are aimed at strengthening the capabilities of Dubai media and improving its competitiveness through a group of basic axes, the most important of which is the interest in developing Emirati media talents and cadres as a goal that tops the strategic priorities of the Council, as well as working on Strengthening global partnerships and intensifying efforts aimed at exchanging expertise and successful experiences in a way that serves to acquire the necessary skills to advance the local media product and bring it to the global level, and confirm Dubai’s position as a leading center for media creativity and innovation.
The meeting, in the presence of Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice President and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, reviewed the latest developments in the comprehensive development process that Dubai Media Corporation is undergoing within its various sectors, and the various axes along which development efforts are proceeding, the most important of which is the interest in attracting, preparing and training Emirati media talents and competencies. And expanding the circle of strategic partnerships with media institutions in order to increase the rates of exchange of expertise and successful experiences, as well as partnerships with major international companies specialized in the field of new media technologies, which confirms the institution’s ability to keep pace with developments in the media industry, and mobilize the necessary elements to ensure that the institution possesses all the elements that It qualifies it to increase its competitiveness, and enables it to continue providing distinguished content that lives up to the aspirations of the recipient, whether inside or outside the country.
Zayed and Rashid campaign
The meeting also reviewed the preparations for the “Zayed and Rashid” campaign launched by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Dubai Government Media Office, under the directives of His Highness, in partnership with a number of governmental, semi-governmental and private entities, with the aim of coordinating the celebratory manifestations coinciding with the UAE’s celebrations of important national occasions, which are “Flag Day” and “53rd Union Day”, and bringing them together under one umbrella that brings together various initiatives and events presented by bodies and institutions over the course of an entire month from November 3 to December 2.
His Highness, Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, listened to an explanation about the various paths of the campaign and the coordination efforts it includes, as well as to unify the media plans to ensure that these events appear in an appearance that matches the importance of the national occasions that the people of the Emirates celebrate during this period of the year, with the campaign this year celebrating two great national symbols. His Highness listened to an explanation about what had been accomplished within the framework of the program, including the visits made by the Council team to the State of Japan, where the visit included a group of meetings and field visits to 22 media institutions, where the delegation was briefed on the method and mechanisms of work of these institutions and the techniques they adopt. Advanced in various fields of media work, as well as learning how to take care of human resources and ways to prepare and develop them.
During the various visits to Japanese media institutions, ways to enhance cooperation in many areas that serve the local media sector were discussed, including the exchange of visits, expertise and successful experiences.
