Dubai Police recorded reports of crimes involving people who do not have any criminal records and hold good jobs, due to heavy joking, recklessness, misbehavior, or their lack of familiarity with the danger of work tools and their use against their colleagues, pointing out that some people turned into criminals by chance and entered prison as a result of crimes in which they were involved. Unintentionally.

These crimes included cases that ended in people being killed by mistake or causing permanent disabilities, and some crimes were strange to society, such as an incident that occurred two days ago when a worker directed a powerful air pressure device at his friend and inadvertently blew it, causing serious damage to him, as well as the incident of a girl who almost killed her colleague in an experiment. A photographer at a college in Dubai shows how a traffic accident occurred.

The Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation and Investigations at Dubai Police, Brigadier Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, told Emirates Al-Youm that he dealt with many cases that began with a kind of joking, amusement, or display between two or more friends and ended in a tragedy with the death of one of them or a person who happened to be in the place.

He added that the incident of child Khaled Al Muhairi’s eye injury, which occurred during National Day celebrations, is a clear example of misbehavior and lack of good judgment on the part of the young man who caused the child’s injury when he directed a toy of compressed colored cards to him, and its cover exploded and hit the child’s eye.

He pointed out that this young man certainly did not intend to injure the child, but he made a mistake in his behavior from the beginning, stressing the need to pay attention and take caution during crowding because the possibilities of danger multiply, and a person cannot estimate the location of the injury if he targets another person with a toy or even jokes with him forcefully.

He continued that one of the strange cases recorded by Dubai Police, recently, was the incident of hitting a student inside one of the colleges while conducting a video experiment under the supervision of a teacher in the colleges, and one of the students was scheduled to drive her car towards her colleague and the latter pretended to be hit, and then the rest of the colleagues participated in the ambulance operation. And transportation, but the simulated scene turned into a real one, and the girl who was supposed to be driving the car was unable to control it and hit her colleague hard, which led to her being seriously injured. She was taken to the hospital in a serious condition, but the two families reached a solution. A settlement was made, and the problem was resolved amicably so that the future of the girl who was unintentionally involved in the accident would not be affected.

Al-Mansouri explained that “the General Department of Criminal Investigation and Investigation deals with all criminal reports with some seriousness, especially those related to the occurrence of deaths, until it is certain that there is no criminal suspicion in the accident,” pointing out that there are many accidents that occurred by mistake due to the recklessness of those responsible. Or they do not realize the consequences of their actions.

In addition, the Deputy Director of the General Department of Investigations for Research and Investigation Affairs, Colonel Salem Al-Rumaithi, said that this type of crime often occurs because the person is not aware of the dangers of violent interaction with another person, pointing out that many dangerous diseases do not appear clearly on the body, But it may lead to the death of its owner if he is exposed to a blow in a place affected by this disease.

He added that one of the cases that he cannot forget was a normal quarrel that occurred between a Filipino and a Pakistani person as a result of a dispute over a car parking area in the Bur Dubai area near Oud Maitha Street. The Filipino was waiting for a car to come out to park in its place, and in the meantime the Pakistani suddenly came and put his car in the place. The Filipino got out of his car and blamed him, and the matter developed into an argument, and then he punched him in the eye.

Al-Rumaithi pointed out that a police patrol came to the scene and took its normal procedures, which included transporting the assaulted person to Rashid Hospital to prepare a report. While they were waiting, the man felt a little tired and his strength suddenly lost. Through his examination, it was found that the blow had struck the nerve in his eye and damaged the brain. He died within minutes, so the report was transferred. From a quarrel that actually ended with both parties reconciling to a mistaken murder.

He continued that the two men were working in good jobs and had two families, but poor judgment and behavior led to the death of one of them and the imprisonment of the other, pointing out that this case is repeated and some consider it a kind of act of God, but this is a wrong assessment because every person is responsible for his behavior and must think carefully before attacking someone. jealousy.

He stressed the need for self-control in such situations and not to act nervously. In the event that a person is exposed to insult or inappropriate behavior by another person, he must resort to the necessary legal means, such as resorting to the police without getting into a fist fight, so that nothing bad will happen, because anger It sometimes blinds its owner and drives him to commit crimes he cannot imagine.

In a related context, the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Humaid Al Marri, said that such crimes occur frequently among workers as a result of their lack of good training, especially in using machines and devices that may turn into deadly weapons if misused.

He added that among the cases he dealt with was an incident where a worker was seriously injured and nearly killed while he was with a colleague on a construction site. His colleague was using a nail-throwing gun to attach things to the roof of the building in which they worked, and in the meantime he unintentionally pointed the gun at his colleague. A nail came out with tremendous force and hit him in the neck. The injured person was taken to the hospital in serious condition and required surgery to save his life.

The incidents also included the case of a worker who suffered serious injuries as a result of being blown by a machine that works with air pressure to remove the white and yellow traffic lines that are drawn on the roads to determine the paths. The worker directed the machine to his colleague at the work site as a joke, and the man’s body turned into something like a balloon due to the force. The enormous air pressure coming out of the machine required urgent medical intervention to save him after he suffered from severe pain.

The worker confirmed during his interrogation by the police that he did not intend to harm him at all, but he was joking with him and did not imagine that the air would leak into him so quickly.

Al Marri explained that the security and safety officer at various work sites is the hero in such cases. If he performs his duty well, such accidents that may lead to death cannot occur, such as repeated cases of workers falling from “scaffold” carriers due to their negligence or failure to do so. Install it well. He continued that developed countries such as Japan pay great attention to these issues and impose precautionary measures that cannot be ignored, including conducting morning training for workers to activate them before entering work and ensuring that they have not consumed alcoholic beverages or substances that affect their concentration while working and thus endanger their safety and the lives of others.

He stressed that such matters need some kind of attention in light of the country’s massive urban expansion and the use of the services of millions of workers, pointing out that training them appropriately on the nature of the work protects against other complications that may lead to death or injury.
