The General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs has completed the project of equipping its maritime customs centers with advanced inspection devices, equipped with modern technologies supported by artificial intelligence systems, and based on rapid passage scanning technology, as part of the strategic priority to enhance the smooth flow of shipments, facilitate trade, shorten time and effort, accelerate inspection operations, and raise the level of customer happiness.
The project includes providing Khalifa Port Customs Centre and Zayed Port with five advanced devices according to the highest standards of health and radiation safety and in compliance with international standards and specifications, including two devices for bags and parcels, two devices for scanning containers and trucks at Khalifa Port, and one device for containers at Zayed Port.
The capacity of one device reaches 120 trucks per hour, all of which are connected to the control room to continuously monitor the performance of operations.
The project of supplying marine customs centres with advanced equipment is one of the strategic projects of Abu Dhabi Customs, to keep pace with the needs of all customs ports, raise the efficiency of performance and accelerate inspection operations, which positively reflects on enhancing the flow of transit, facilitating the movement of trade and contributing to supporting sustainable economic development.
His Excellency Mubarak Matar Al Mansouri, Executive Director of Operations Sector at Abu Dhabi Customs, confirmed that the project comes within the framework of completing Abu Dhabi Customs’ efforts to enhance the inspection system, which was launched last January by completing the project to equip its land customs centers in Al Ain City with advanced devices.
He added, “At Abu Dhabi Customs, we attach great importance to developing systems to raise operational efficiency, according to the highest safety standards for employees, customers and shipments, by using devices based on advanced technology and artificial intelligence applications, which contributes to meeting the requirements of customs operations within the best practices, enhances the level of customer happiness and achieves Abu Dhabi Customs’ vision of consolidating its global leadership.”
