Abu Dhabi hosts the “Nuclear Operators” Conference

In the capital, Abu Dhabi, the UAE is hosting, for the first time in the region, the General Conference of the International Organization of Nuclear Operators, which was chaired over the past two years by the Managing Director and CEO of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, Mohammed Al Hammadi, as the first Emirati and the first Arab to hold this position.

The annual conference of the international organization brings together about 120 members from 30 countries, with the aim of exchanging knowledge and experiences in several areas of the nuclear energy sector, most notably the safety of nuclear operations, excellence, and the importance of international cooperation.

Yesterday’s statement stated that the UAE Peaceful Nuclear Energy Program has provided a global model for developing nuclear power plants, in accordance with the highest standards of safety, security and operational excellence, while developing a distinguished safety culture for more than 3,000 employees belonging to more than 50 nationalities, all of whom adhere to local regulations and the highest international standards. .

The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation joined the International Organization of Nuclear Operators in October 2010, and Mohammed Al Hammadi was elected to the Board of Directors of the organization’s center in Atlanta in August 2015, before being elected as its president at the organization’s general meeting in Prague in October 2022, as the first Emirati and the first Arab to assume this responsibility.
