After completing its development, “Dubai Roads” will resume marine transport lines to serve residential areas

The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai has resumed operating marine transport lines to serve residential areas in the Water Canal and Business Bay areas after the completion of their development. This service is represented by two lines linking the tourist attractions surrounding the two areas. The Authority is working to develop the public and tourism maritime transport sector with the aim of serving residents and visitors, and ensuring customer satisfaction in the Emirate of Dubai, by developing the services provided and working to integrate them with other transport sectors by providing flexible means of transport such as bicycles and electric scooters near integrated stations for easy access. Among them, in addition to continuous coordination with all relevant authorities in the Emirate of Dubai, with the aim of meeting customer services and achieving the goals of the Emirate of Dubai in improving the quality of life in accordance with the Authority’s strategic objectives.

Khalaf Hassan Abdullah Balghazouz Al-Zarouni, Director of the Maritime Transport Department at the Public Transport Corporation of the Roads and Transport Authority, said: The Authority aims by developing and resuming the operation of these lines to achieve visions and goals with high efficiency, which enhances the economy and raises the quality of projects, life, and service of areas and development projects with a sea view. Providing appropriate infrastructure in development projects with sea views also contributes to facilitating the movement of the public to and from these projects, which increases their attractiveness and modernizes tourist destinations and residential areas in the Emirate of Dubai, which is reflected in the increase in the number of users of marine transport services, based on the comprehensive plan. For Maritime Transport 2020 – 2030 that it launched, which included the needs of developers.

The first line, DC2, operates from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm from Monday to Saturday, and from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm on Sundays, with a travel time ranging between 30 and 50 minutes. This route connects the Waterfront Station, Marassi Station, and Business Bay, Godolphin Station and Sheikh Zayed Road Marine Transport Station, and provides a convenient means of transportation for those traveling to and from the main business and entertainment centers in the region.

As for the second line, DC3, it operates from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and connects Al Jaddaf Station to the Dubai Design District for marine transport, and operates in both directions. This route provides a comfortable and efficient means of transportation for passengers between the two areas, especially those wishing to reach Al Khor Station, the Green Line of the Dubai Metro, from Dubai Design District, runs every 35 minutes, providing seamless access for people to and from the area, with a fare of only two dirhams, for each stopping point on the two mentioned lines.
