Al Ain goalkeeper, international Khalid Eisa, who will turn 35 in mid-September, revealed the date of his retirement from a sports career that spans nearly 15 years.

The national team’s main goalkeeper said in an interview with Al Ain Club’s YouTube channel that before the start of last season, he had received a question from one of his close friends about what he lacked as a football player, and that his response was to achieve two things and that he would retire after them.

Issa explained: “The first thing was to win the AFC Champions League title, which I achieved last season, and the second was to reach the World Cup finals with the national team, because after that everything I have achieved in terms of championships and individual titles will be gone.”

He continued: “As I mentioned, there is one goal left that I have not achieved yet, and I hope to succeed in it and be a part, even if it is a small one, of the team that will qualify for the World Cup and bring joy to the nation.”

Khaled Eissa is currently preparing to lead the national team in the first and second rounds against Qatar and Iran, respectively, in the final qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
