Al-Hamdan and Al-Subhi determine the course of the Saudi-Oman summit

Two heavy-caliber matches will be held in the semi-finals of the Arabian Gulf Football Cup “Gulf 26”, when Saudi Arabia will meet Oman, and Kuwait will meet Bahrain to determine the identity of the two teams that will play the final match next Saturday.

The two “Golden Square” matches will begin with Saudi Arabia facing Oman at 18:30 pm at Jaber Al-Mubarak Stadium, while Kuwait and Bahrain will play at 21:45 pm at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium.

In the first match, the “Green” star, Abdullah Al-Hamdan, and the “Red” striker, Issam Al-Subhi, stand out as top scorers, as each of them has three goals to his credit, and they constitute the source of the strength of the offensive line in each team.

Al-Hamdan excelled remarkably in the second and third rounds, and led the Saudi team to qualify with difficulty to the semi-finals, after scoring the winning goal against Yemen in the last minute of stoppage time, so that the “Green” team won by three goals to two, before the same scene was repeated in the decisive match against Iraq scored the second and third goals, giving the Saudi team victory by three goals to one.

As for Issam Al-Subhi, he played the “championship” role in the first and second rounds, when he contributed to the Oman national team getting a point in the opening match by scoring the equalizer against Kuwait, while he led “Al-Ahmar” to achieve the “Remontada” against Qatar in the second round, by scoring the equalizer from Penalty kick and winning goal in the second half.

Oman qualified for the semi-finals after topping the first group with five points, beating Kuwait, which came in second place with the same score of points, by “fair play”, compared to two points for the UAE and Qatar, who exited the tournament in the group stage.

On the other hand, the “homeowner” team, Kuwait, is facing a difficult confrontation against its Bahraini counterpart, as “Blue” is betting on playing the match in its stadium and in front of its fans, who played a major role in its qualification to the “Golden Square.”

The fans of the Kuwaiti national team contributed to the team passing the three matches without any loss, although the team was not the best party during them, as it tied with difficulty with Oman, while it achieved an exciting victory over the Emirates in the fatal time with two goals to one, despite the advantage of “Al-Abyad”. » He had 76% possession of the ball, while the crowd gave his team great strength in the decisive match against Qatar, which ended in a draw and the team qualified for the semi-finals.

As for the Bahrain national team, it is considered the “best” team in the group stage in all aspects, despite its loss in the third round to Yemen by two goals to one, but “Al-Ahmar” had decided its qualification early by winning the first and second rounds over Saudi Arabia and Iraq.

The Bahraini team hopes to confirm its superiority over its Kuwaiti counterpart, as it has not lost to them in the last five official confrontations, by winning the 2014 West Asian Championship on penalties, and in the 2019 edition with a goal to no response, and in the “Gulf 24” by four goals to two, and in the Arab Cup by two goals. Without a response, while in the last edition, “Gulf 25,” they tied with one goal for each team, and finally the Kuwaiti national team won in a friendly match last September with three goals to one.
