An Indian tries to slaughter himself to marry his lover

Last Wednesday, Ras Al Khaimah Police arrested a young man named (J.S.), 27 years old, an Indian worker, after he made a suicide attempt, when he decided to slaughter himself with a knife in his neck, while he was very drunk, because his lover had married someone. Another in his hometown in India. Article No. 335 of the Federal Penal Code stipulates “imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months, or a fine not exceeding 5,000 dirhams, or both penalties, for every person who attempts suicide.”

The doctor in the Accident and Emergency Department at Saqr Governmental Hospital, Rabie Mukhtar, said that the patient arrived at the hospital in a state of bleeding in the neck, due to his attempt to slaughter himself, which led to him sustaining a simple cut in the vein, which caused bleeding in the neck.

He explained that the patient was very drunk when his colleagues brought him to the hospital, and he was immediately admitted to the emergency department, and stitches were performed on the wound, with the aim of stopping the bleeding.

The young man was placed in the surgery room to monitor his health condition, and the police were informed of the case, and a police officer was placed with the injured person to protect him from repeating the suicide attempt.

For his part, the injured person (J.S.) told “Emirates Al-Youm” that he tried to commit suicide by slaughtering himself with a knife, after receiving the news of his ex-lover’s marriage to another person in India, and he continued that he met the girl six years ago, and a love story arose between them. They decided to get married after he returned to India immediately after completing his work in the Emirates.

He explained that the girl’s family refused to let him marry his lover, because he did not have enough money and because he worked outside India, and they quickly married her to someone who had money and resided in India permanently.

On the other hand, a police source in Ras Al Khaimah said that the injured person was arrested immediately after receiving a report from the hospital, and was kept in the hospital until he received the necessary treatment, explaining that the injured person would be transferred to the Public Prosecution on charges of attempting suicide.
