“Civil Aviation” and “Beta” discuss cooperation in the field of electric aircraft

The Director General of the General Civil Aviation Authority, Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, discussed with the founder and CEO of Beta Technologies, Kyle Clark, the exchange of expertise, experiences, and best practices in the field of advanced electric aircraft.

During a visit by a high-level delegation from the Authority and representatives of government entities and departments in the aviation sector in the UAE to the headquarters of the “Beta” factory in the state of Vermont in the United States, Al Suwaidi stressed that electric aircraft technology is currently witnessing tremendous development, especially in light of future trends and visions to integrate air transport within the system of individual movement within cities and urban areas.

He pointed out that the UAE is a pioneer in this field, as it works in cooperation with a number of international companies to enhance supportive regulations and policies, and develop an advanced infrastructure for vertical take-off and landing networks, in preparation for the commercial launch of air taxis in 2026. Al Suwaidi added: “The General Civil Aviation Authority is keen to review the latest technologies used globally in this field,” praising the advanced technologies and precise engineering he witnessed in the factory, which serve global trends towards developing an advanced, safe and sustainable air transport system.

For his part, Kyle Clark, founder and CEO of Beta Technologies, reviewed the stages of manufacturing advanced electric aircraft inside the factory, the advanced technology used, and the major transformations achieved by the company in the field of advanced aviation, through the development of vertical take-off and landing aircraft.
