Digital identity wins the gold prize from the International Authority for Transformation in the Government Sector

Dubai Digital Authority, the Communications Regulatory Authority and the digital government announced the victory of the UAE PASS digital identity in the Golden Award in the Category of the Sixteenth session of the Sixteenth session of the Transformation Awards in the government sector (IESE) 2025, which is an annual occasion and a prominent global event that celebrates the culture of innovation and highlights best practices in the government sector.
These prizes are awarded by the British non -profit organization with the aim of benefiting from global experiences and joint experiences and highlighting the achievements that can be inspired to advance the march of development based on innovative thought.
In this year, 140 distinguished government experiences were evaluated from government institutions around the world, where the arbitration committees concluded the Golden Award for the application of the digital identity developed by the Dubai Digital Authority in cooperation with the Communications Regulatory Authority, the digital government and the government empowerment department in Abu Dhabi and in partnership with the Ministry of Interior, the Dubai Electronic Security Center and the Federal Authority for Identity, Nationality, Customs and Ports Security.
Commenting on this achievement, Hamad Obaid Al -Mansoori, Director General of Dubai, Dubai Digital, said: “It is pleased that the Emirati digital identity will receive this interest at the global level as a successful experience that can be simulated in other countries and governments. In this context, to the distinguished and influential role of our strategic partners in this project, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, the digital government and the government empowerment department in Abu Dhabi who worked with us over the years within a precise and gradual strategic plan until we reached what we are today as the digital identity has become part of the lifestyle.
He added: “The digital identity project emerged from the vision of good leadership by reaching a comprehensive and integrated digital life that allows facilitating people’s lives and supporting the digital economy by employing digital technologies, foremost of which is artificial intelligence that is used in the process of verifying the identity of users in a way that provides their time and provides the highest degree of protection.
For his part, Eng. Majid Sultan Al -Memmar, Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and the digital government, said: “We are pleased that the application of the digital identity will enjoy this estimate at the world level, as he won the Golden Award from among dozens of projects and initiatives from many countries. With more successes and achievements in implementation of the vision of “UAE 2031”, which stipulates the transition from one summit to the most brighter future for our dear homeland.
The award ceremony was held for this year on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 in the British capital, London, in the presence and participation of many representatives of government agencies, owners of distinguished innovative experiences and managers of the winning projects. The Golden Award for Digital Identity received representatives of the Dubai Digital Authority, the Communications Regulatory Authority and the digital government.
The number of entities that provide their services through the application of the digital identity exceeded 340, including 60 federal entities, 171 local government agencies and 118 private entities, and provide more than 15,000 services.
