Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Diwa), Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayer, announced that the authority launched 1530 new “11 kg voltage” distribution stations throughout the Emirate of Dubai during the year 2024, an increase of 8.2%, compared to 2023, pointing out that work in these stations and tasks associated with it guarantees a total of one million and 70 thousand and 670 working hours, according to the highest standards Health and safety.
Al -Tayer revealed that the total number of medium -voltage distribution stations (11 kg and 6.6 km) amounted to 45 thousand and 317 stations by the end of 2024, indicating that the high number of distribution stations is a new indication of the expansion of the authority’s infrastructure to keep pace with the prosperity of Dubai, its economic and urban growth, high energy production, and meeting the growing demand for electricity.
Al -Tayer added: “The authority has always succeeded in fulfilling its pledges to make Dubai a title for the integrated advanced infrastructure, which makes it the best destination for living, work and stability, and in line with the Dubai Economic Agency (D33) and Dubai Urban Plan 2040, we continue to expand the electricity infrastructure, and raise production capacity and transportation and distribution networks, based on demand expectations until 2030, which takes into account Demographic and economic growth in the emirate.
Al -Tayer continued: «Our accreditation contributed the latest global technologies for the production, transportation and distribution of energy, in the authority’s first place in the world in more than 10 main performance indicators in its field of work.” He revealed that the percentage of losses in the electricity transmission and distribution networks in Dubai amounted to 2.0%, compared to a loss ranging between 6 and 7% in Europe and the United States, stressing that the authority has become a role model at the world level, in the efficiency and reliability of energy and keeping pace with the increase in demand.
For his part, the CEO of the President for the Energy Distribution Sector in the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Eng.
