Dubai Ports World Group “DPDDRED”, Motta-Anji, which specializes in construction, has chosen to lead the development of the “Bennana” port in the Democratic Congo.
The group stated, in a statement, yesterday, that this partnership represents a very important achievement by implementing the port project, which is expected to make a qualitative shift in the commercial scene in the region, by providing advanced infrastructure, reducing business costs, in addition to strengthening the economic independence of the Congo. Bannana port will be developed in stages, as the first stage was designed to accommodate the largest ships in the world, and it is characterized by a 600 -meter sidewalk, a handling capacity of 450 thousand stereotypes measuring 20 feet annually, and a storage area of 30 hectares, while the second stage of the port berth extends for a distance of more than two kilometers. The port is an investment for the Dubai Ports World Group, with the participation of the British International Investment Corporation (BII).
The Chairman of the Board of Directors, CEO of the Dubai Ports Group «DP and Drds», Sultan Ahmed bin Sleyal, said: “Bannana Port is a project that creates great transformations that will re -draw the features of the commercial and logistical scene in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.”
He added: «Through our partnership with (Mota-Anji), we will ensure the construction of a global infrastructure, according to the highest standards, which enhances economic growth and creates new opportunities for the Congolese people.
