The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three rooms operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, announced the establishment of the Indonesian Business Council, with the aim of supporting the growth of trade and investment relations, and the development of the prospects for joint opportunities between business societies in Dubai and Indonesia, which raises the total number of business councils working under the umbrella of the Chamber to 59 councils.
This step reflects the growing attractiveness of Dubai to companies and investors from Indonesia, as the value of non -oil -oil trade between Dubai and Indonesia exceeded the first nine months of last year the 10 billion dirhams barrier.
The number of active Indonesian companies registered in the Dubai Chamber of Commerce membership at the end of last year was 160 companies, with a growth of 60% on an annual basis.
A statement issued yesterday stated that during the first meeting of the Indonesian Business Council, ways to enhance coordination and cooperation were discussed and organized bilateral business activities.
“Business councils contribute a vital role in promoting commercial and investment ties, as it provides interactive platforms for dialogue and cooperation between business societies,” said Maha Al -Qarqawi, Vice -President of the Business Society Support Sector.
In the context of efforts to enhance commercial and investment ties between Dubai and Indonesia, the Dubai World Chamber opened in 2023 its representative office in Jakarta, Indonesia, and then in May of last year, 200 bilateral meetings between 17 companies from Dubai with Indonesian companies in Jakarta, within the activities of a commercial mission to Southeast Asia, included Indonesia and Vietnam.
