Dubai Customs launches the Authorized Economic Operator Forum

The Dubai Customs Department launched the first edition of the Authorized Economic Operator Forum, as a platform for exchanging ideas, sharing visions, and exploring opportunities to develop the program and enhance cooperation between customs and the commercial sector. The department stated in a statement yesterday that the Authorized Economic Operator Program contributes effectively to enhancing foreign trade through benefits. And the facilities it grants to its members, such as simplifying customs procedures, priority in completing transactions, and other advantages that provide speedy clearance of goods to committed companies, in accordance with controls and procedures that enhance the customs security system and ensure facilitation of commerce.

She stated that the “Authorized Economic Operator” is a federal program at the UAE level, which works to link the country commercially and customs with the countries of the world, and facilitate the access of member companies’ goods to global markets, especially the markets of countries with which mutual recognition agreements are signed. The Director of the Customs Value Department, Director of the Program, said: The authorized economic operator at Dubai Customs, Iman Badr Al Suwaidi, said that the program currently includes 130 members in the UAE with continuous expansion in the future.
