Dubai International Airport (DXB) is preparing for a record start to 2025 with 4.3 million passengers expected to arrive during the first two weeks of the year, paving the way for its busiest January ever.
Daily traffic reached its peak yesterday (January 3), with the number of passengers on this day reaching 311,000 passengers, while the average number of daily passengers during the period is expected to reach 287,000 passengers, an increase estimated at about 8% compared to the same period. This exceptional performance reflects an increase in the number of international travelers departing after the holiday season, in addition to residents returning from their vacations. The Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai revealed the latest statistics on the performance of the tourism sector and the numbers of international visitors, which showed that the emirate attracted 16.79 million international tourists during the first 11 months of 2024, compared to 15.37 million tourists during the same period in 2023, at a rate Growth amounted to about 9%.
According to data from the department, Dubai has continued to record strong rates in various indicators, including the total number of visitors, the number of hotel rooms, the nights booked, the average daily rate, as well as the average return on the room, compared to 2023 levels.
Data from Dubai Airports Corporation also showed that the number of air carriers operating their flights at Dubai International and Al Maktoum International Airports reached 109 airlines operating their flights to 246 international destinations in 103 countries.
