The Dubai Marine Authority in the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation in cooperation with 3 of its strategic partners inaugurated the project to expand the coverage of communications networks in Dubai waters during the activities of the Dubai International Boat Fair 2025, in the presence of Sultan bin Salim, President of the Ports and Customs Foundation and the Free Zone, Nasser Al -Neyadi, CEO of the Foundation , Where this ambitious project aims to enhance communications infrastructure in coastal areas And the industrial islands, to keep pace with the continuous development of the maritime sector in the emirate.
Sheikh Dr. Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, Executive Director of the Dubai Navy, stressed that this project comes within the framework of the commitment of the Dubai Naval Authority to develop an integrated and sustainable marine environment, as the expanded coverage of communications networks will contribute to achieving several strategic goals, including improving the efficiency of maritime communication Providing advanced communication networks that support navigational operations and ensure smooth communication between ships and marine facilities, in addition to support The immediate response capabilities of seafar cases by enabling immediate contact with the rescue teams and the concerned authorities.
The Executive Director of the Dubai Marine Authority stated that the first step has been completed in the first phase of the project, which is the completion of the testing of specific marine roads to detect network coverage and improvement, and work is underway on the subsequent steps and stages of the future in cooperation and coordination with the project partners.
He explained that this project reflects Dubai’s commitment to consolidate its position as a leading destination in maritime innovation, as the installation of 4 communications towers will contribute to expanding network coverage and improving communications infrastructure in both Dubai Islands, the Islands of the World, Jabal Ali, and Dubai Marine Faculty, which enhances the experience in these sites Vitality.
The authority participates at the Dubai International Boat Fair with a number of initiatives such as how to obtain a driving license for a marine means after completing the registration tests as well as registering marine means, in addition to providing a simulation room, which provides a virtual experience for visitors inside the platform.
