A delegation from the Dubai Maritime Authority at the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, headed by Sheikh Dr. Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, Executive Director of the Dubai Maritime Authority, visited the Hatta area, within the framework of following up on projects to develop the area and promoting licensed marine tourism activities.
The visit included Wadi Lim Lake and Hatta Kayak in Hatta Dam, as they are unique marine tourist destinations in Dubai and the UAE.
Dubai Marine stated in a statement yesterday that the delegation met during the visit with the Acting Director-General of Dubai Municipality, Marwan bin Ghalita, to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation and organize work related to marine activities and water bodies, as the two sides stressed the importance of joint work to serve visitors, activities and service facilities. Especially in light of the great demand witnessed by the Hatta region as a growing tourist destination.
Sheikh Dr. Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum said: “This visit comes within the framework of our keenness to ensure the application of the highest standards of safety and efficiency in the management of the waterways surrounding Hatta Dam, which reflects our commitment to strengthening Dubai’s position as a global tourist destination, while achieving the highest levels of safety and quality in All marine related activities.
He stressed that the safety of visitors and enthusiasts of water tourism activities in the Hatta area is one of the priorities of the Dubai Maritime Authority, noting that this responsibility requires close coordination between all concerned parties. He also stressed the importance of securing the marine means used in the region, and benefiting from modern infrastructure to develop charter facilities. These means enhance Hatta’s position as a distinguished tourist destination.
