The Dubai Metro has obtained the ISO 55001 certification for asset management, which reinforces the commitment of the Roads and Transport Authority, in cooperation with Keolis MHI, which is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Dubai Metro, to apply the best international practices and standards in asset management. This certificate confirms the efforts made to achieve operational excellence and ensure the sustainability of the transportation infrastructure in the emirate.

This certificate is an affirmation of the Authority’s leadership in providing world-class transportation systems, and reflects its commitment to long-term sustainability and its keenness to obtain this international accreditation..

Hassan Al Mutawa, Director of the Train Maintenance Department at the Rail Agency at the Roads and Transport Authority, explained that Dubai Metro’s obtaining this certificate represents an achievement that reflects the authority’s reputation as a role model in enhancing the efficiency of asset management and improving its performance in line with international standards..

Al Mutawa stressed that the Authority continues its journey towards innovation and improving the performance of assets, while seeking to reduce life cycle costs to the maximum extent possible, within the framework of its mission aimed at building a smarter and more sustainable future for Dubai’s transport infrastructure..

For his part, David Franks, CEO of Keolis MHA, expressed his happiness with this achievement, saying: “Dubai Metro’s obtaining the ISO 55001 certification in asset management represents an important achievement, and reflects our commitment with the Roads and Transport Authority to maintain world-class asset management practices.” The level places safety, reliability and customer satisfaction as top priorities and underscores our strategic focus on sustainability and innovation, as we continue to set new standards for urban mobility“.

It is worth noting that the Dubai Metro had obtained this certificate in February 2014, which reflects the Roads and Transport Authority’s adoption of an integrated approach to asset management across all its life stages, from acquisition and maintenance to the end of operation. This strategy supports decision-making and improves risk management.
