Dubai Municipality announced the cultivation of about 216,500 trees during the year 2024, an increase of 17% compared to 2023, and the average cultivation of about 600 trees per day.

The municipality also announced that the number of cosmetic flowers and cosmetic plants reached 5.3 million seedlings, in addition to 45 million seasonal flowers that were replaced over three seasons during the past year, and the number of Dubai Municipal projects for cosmetic agriculture, which contributed to strengthening Dubai leadership in the field of sustainability, reached 165 projects, targeted targeting Through it, beautifying, preparing, and afforestation of residential and urban areas, main and subsidiary roads, bridges intersections, as well as public parks, entertainment facilities, and family squares, within the “Dubai Green Project” that aims to increase the cultivated areas, raise the per capita share, and maintain their unique civilized appearance according to Sustainable plans.

Badr Anouhi, Executive Director of the Public Utilities Corporation in Dubai Municipality, confirmed the continuous efforts to grow, beautify and prepare the Emirate of Dubai, saying, “The cosmetic projects implemented by the Dubai Municipality are among the continuous projects that confirm our commitment to upgrade the attractiveness and sustainability of the Emirate of Dubai, and work according to a comprehensive urban planning, mixes Between the application of modern agricultural practices based on the best environmental sustainability standards on the one hand, and the enhancement of the civilized, urban and aesthetic character that distinguishes the uniqueness of the emirate on the other hand.

He added, “Our goal is to make Dubai more quality for life for all its residents and visitors, and this commitment includes; beautifying the city and upgrading its attractiveness, increasing green spaces, improving air and soil quality, mitigating the effects of climate change, and maintaining environmental and biological diversity.”

The agricultural projects of the Dubai Municipality during the year 2024 included the implementation of agricultural work to beautify and prepare a number of major intersections and bridges, including; The intersections of Sheikh Zayed Street with Al -Jumail Street, Al -Khawaneej Street, the intersections of Al -Khail Street with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Street, Sheikha Latifa Bint Hamdan Street, Al -Midan Street, and Umm Suqeim Street.

It also included the implementation of agricultural beauty projects on Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Road, Al -Ittihad, Dubai Al Ain, and some internal roads for residential areas, among them; Al -Mizhar, Al -Barasha, Al -Hamar, Wind Al -Sheba, Mardaf, Abu Hill, and Al -Muttina Promises.

The trees planted by the municipality varied between local environmental trees, such as; Ghaf, Sidr, Al -Samar, and other ornamental trees such as nim, olives, Indian jasmine, and palm semi, in addition to many other types that are characterized by evergreen and from them; Washingtonia, Bismarca, Busida, Bonnsiana, Bonjamia, and French Akkasia.

Besides, the Dubai Municipality, through its programs in the field of cosmetic agriculture, is keen to follow the latest modern and sustainable technical agricultural practices, and to use it in creating an integrated infrastructure for irrigation operations that operate according to a high -quality and efficient system that achieves great savings in the consuming water, in addition to its full approval The waters are recycled to irrigate projects, which contributes to enhancing the sustainability of environmental and natural resources.

In a related context, the nursery of the Dubai municipality in the Warsan region produced during the year 2024, about 48 million and 130 thousand seedlings of all kinds, including seasonal flowers and ornamental trees, including local environmental trees and other types of plants such as soil and plant fences, where the Dubai Municipality used 98 % Of the production of the nursery of trees and plants in its projects and agricultural operations to prepare and disassem for the emirate during the past year.
