His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, received today Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of the Republic of Georgia, who is on a working visit to the country.
During the meeting, which took place at the Beach Palace in Abu Dhabi, His Highness welcomed the Prime Minister, wishing Georgia and its friendly people continued goodness and prosperity.
His Highness and the Prime Minister of Georgia discussed the paths of development of cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of investment, trade, economics, agriculture, renewable energy, environment, sustainability and other vital aspects of common interest within the two countries’ development plans.
The two sides also exchanged views on a number of issues and topics of common interest, most notably those related to consolidating peace, security, stability and development in the region and the world.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the UAE’s keenness to build fruitful partnerships with friendly countries, especially in areas that serve common development.
His Highness pointed out that the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the two countries, which entered into force last year 2024, represents a major qualitative leap in the path of economic cooperation. We are keen to achieve the objectives of this agreement for the benefit of common development.
For his part, the Prime Minister of Georgia expressed his thanks to His Highness the President for the warm reception, stressing his country’s interest in expanding the horizons of its cooperation with the UAE in a way that serves their common interests and advances sustainable economic development and prosperity.
The two sides expressed their aspiration that the coming period will witness further development of Emirati-Georgian relations to advance sustainable development in the two countries in light of the availability of many elements that enhance these aspirations.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, His Highness Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Office for Special Affairs, and Sheikh Mohammed. Bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to the President of the State, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Ahmed bin Ali Mohammed Al-Sayegh, Minister of State, and Mohammed Al Abbar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Eagle Hills, Ahmed Al Nuaimi, the UAE Ambassador to Georgia, and a number of ministers and senior officials. It was also attended by the delegation accompanying the Georgian Prime Minister, which includes a number of ministers and senior officials.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Prime Minister of Georgia also witnessed the signing of an investment memorandum of understanding regarding the establishment of developmental projects in Georgia.
The memorandum was signed by Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Eagle Hills, and on the Georgian side, Levan Davita Shvili, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, and Torniki Regvadze, Head of the Adjara Autonomous Government, in the presence of a number of officials from both countries.
