Emirates Airlines reported that flight instructors at the Emirates Pilot Training Academy can now have the opportunity to qualify to work in Emirates Airlines as first officers after completing five years in the field of training.
The carrier stated in a statement yesterday that this allows qualified trainers to undergo an intensive training and qualification program to fly Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 wide-body aircraft, enabling them to join the carrier’s pilot community, which includes 4,400 pilots.
This came on the occasion of Emirates Airlines and the Emirates Pilot Training Academy celebrating the flight instructors working at the academy, coinciding with the celebration of World Teachers’ Day, which falls on October 5th every year.
Senior Vice President of the Emirates Pilot Training Academy, Captain Abdullah Al Hammadi, said: “On World Teacher’s Day, we celebrate the academy’s flight instructors, who are among the most experienced and committed in the industry. They are the backbone of the academy and have a great influence in shaping the personalities and success of the trainee pilots. “Not only in the field of qualifying them and providing them with technical skills, but also by playing the role of inspirational mentors and trainers who impart vital skills, such as leadership skills, how to deal in various situations, good decision-making, and the ability to adapt and communicate.”
He added, “Flight instructors have the opportunity to nurture the next generation of pilots, which is one of the most appreciated roles in aviation.”
For his part, the first flight instructor ever to work for the carrier as a first officer, Mohammed Bilal Pasha, said: “My role as a flight instructor at the Emirates Pilot Training Academy was not only limited to education, but also to inspire the next generation of pilots to achieve their dreams with diligence and passion.”
He added: “The growth opportunities provided by the Emirates Pilot Training Academy have enabled me to develop my capabilities and experience in the world of commercial aviation, and I will now be able to see the world thanks to the Emirates Pilot Training Academy and the wide network of (Emirates Airlines) destinations.”
