Emirates Airlines joins the Corporation of the Ring Economy in the Aviation Sector

Emirates Airlines has announced its joining the “Aviation Circulration”, along with the company “SL Metals”, with the aim of activating the concepts of the circular economy in the aviation sector, and the carrier, in a statement, stated that its accession enhances the coalition’s commitment to accelerate the carbon removal efforts from supply chains, through the application The principles of the highly valuable circular economy, after the coalition launched the “Road Map of the 2050”, which it announced in November 2024.

Emirates Airlines revealed that it merged recycling solutions and the circular economy within its operations as part of its sustainability strategy, from reusing the components of the internal aircraft cabins, and choosing more sustainable materials in their products, to initiatives on flights and programs to reduce waste, stressing that they continue to search for innovative ways to reduce their environmental imprint.

“The aviation sector must reconsider how materials are used across the various stages of the plane’s life cycle, starting from manufacturing to their exit from service, and with the increasing number of planes that come out of service, the urgent need for sustainable solutions to address the end of the age of aircraft is highlighted,” said Ahmed Safa. He added, “We seek to explore new ways to extend our fleet’s life, while joining the coalition allows an opportunity to cooperate in sustainable initiatives that contribute to reducing waste, and accelerating the transformation of the aviation sector towards adopting the circular economy approach.”
