Enhanced health insurance for low-income people is the first line of defense

Yesterday, the Pride of the Nation Office launched an initiative to provide new and expanded health insurance services to front-line heroes with limited income in the UAE and their families, within the framework of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and the interest of His Highness. The new program, which represents an additional upgrade to the benefits enjoyed by beneficiaries, within the insurance programs they currently subscribe to, was developed in partnership between the Fakhr al-Watan Office and the National Health Insurance Company (Daman), and with funding from “Fakhr al-Watan.”

The initiative includes benefiting 10,000 first-line defense workers registered in the National Pride Office’s database, with limited income, provided that their benefit from the expanded insurance benefits includes benefits similar to those available in the “Your Health” program, which is designated for Abu Dhabi government employees who are residents. Starting next February.

The development of the program by the National Pride Office comes in direct response to the results of a survey, which was conducted when the office was established, for more than 8,000 front-line workers, from all medical facilities licensed at the federal and local levels, in addition to the entities responsible for sterilization and protection operations.

The results of the survey showed two main topics, which were identified by the heroes of the first line of defense as challenges they face, which were protecting their public health while performing their duties in confronting the pandemic, in addition to the overall cost of living.

“Daman” will manage and implement the initiative, in cooperation with “Pride of the Nation” and the National Program for Happiness and Quality of Life, as the company has extensive experience in designing and managing similar insurance programs funded by the government.

“Daman” will work directly with the administrations of medical institutions to register workers in the first line of defense who are eligible to benefit from the initiative, in accordance with the standards determined by the Fakhr al-Watan Office, in addition to its role in coordinating prior approvals and paying related financial claims with the health facilities responsible for providing Health services and treatment.

Counseling and medications

The new upgrade program provides coverage for discount and co-insurance fees, according to the terms of the beneficiaries’ current health insurance plans, such as: counseling services and medications, in addition to subscribers receiving additional coverage, up to 3,000 dirhams, if they exceed the upper limit, set within their annual insurance coverage plan. .

10,000 first-line defense workers, registered with the office, benefit from the initiative.
