Expo City Dubai revealed the details of the master plan, which preserves the fabric and spirit of the current site, and retains more than 80% of the infrastructure and buildings that were developed for Expo 2020.

The plan includes the Alef and Terra Suites, the Tawasul Convention Center (formerly the Opportunity Pavilion), Al Wasl Square, the Rove Expo Hotel, the former Leadership Pavilion (which will be converted into hotel apartments in 2025), and the UAE Pavilion. the surreal Expo Falls; And Al Thuraya Garden; And entry gates.

He explained in statements to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, that Expo Dubai focuses on building a vibrant community that includes residential, commercial, and entertainment facilities, providing integrated experiences for the city’s residents, workers, and visitors, and establishing a work environment that stimulates creativity, innovation, and cooperation, and encourages innovators, entrepreneurs, and companies. Startups and major companies to invest, expand, and exchange knowledge and expertise in various fields, with a focus on enhancing sustainability to contribute to achieving the strategic goals of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates.

He added that there is increasing interest from major developers, investors, and local and international companies that would like to establish their headquarters in Expo City Dubai.

Expo Fields represents the main entry point to Expo City Dubai from the south, and is a destination for healthy living that includes a school, playgrounds, sports facilities, clubs, residential properties, retail outlets, restaurants and cafes, in addition to Alef Plaza, which will transform into an outdoor exhibition space at night.

The Expo Arena, which can accommodate 30,000 people, is a new landmark for festivals and hosting concerts and shows. It covers an area of ​​500,000 square meters and includes about five thousand residents, 25,000 square meters of retail, dining and beverage space, and 15,000 square meters of office space. And a mosque.

The Expo Downtown area extends from the metro station to Al Wasl Square, then to Terra and the eastern edge of the city, and the Al Wasl area remains a “cultural park.” The area also includes the Terra Living residential buildings, the Terra “floating” park, and the Terra Tower – an office and hospitality tower. Upscale, multi-use and the tallest building in Expo City.

“Expo Downtown” extends over an area of ​​500,000 square meters, including 6,000 apartments housing 20,000 residents, in addition to 130,000 square meters of retail space, restaurants, and hotels, and 135,000 square meters of office space, including the offices of Siemens Energy and Siemens Industrial.

The Expo Business District strengthens the existing business community in the city, by providing an integrated system for entrepreneurs and companies that share Expo City’s commitment to sustainability and urban solutions.

The area also includes the Tawasul Conference Center, Al Firdaus Studio, a new theater with a capacity of 1,500 seats, and the Art Plaza, in addition to the new global headquarters of DP World.

The Expo Business District covers an area of ​​210,000 square metres, including 155,000 square meters of office space, 40,000 square meters of retail space, restaurants, a hotel and a hospital.

The Expo Hills project is located on the northern edge of the city with direct access from Expo Road, and will be a low-density residential community for about 4,000 residents.

The Expo Valley community includes smart and sustainable homes, including 200 villas and 300 townhouses. It extends over an area of ​​approximately 650,000 square meters and includes 177,000 square meters of gardens and natural spaces. It also includes health and entertainment facilities in addition to 2,800 square meters of shops and restaurants.

The Expo Forest will connect Expo City and Expo Valley, and is the largest green space available to the public in and around Expo City. It will include ghaf trees, cycling paths, hiking trails, and water features.

The Expo Market, located in the Expo Business District, highlights the city’s commitment to creating healthy, sustainable communities, with a farmers market that increases access to fresh, nutritious foods, as well as farm-to-table restaurants and cafes.

Expo High Street provides a mix of retail, cafés, F&B projects and cultural spaces in a pedestrian-first environment.

The city will also include more than 21,000 parking spaces, including more than 4,500 electric vehicle charging stations, two gas stations, and emergency service stations.

Expo City will set new standards in global urban excellence. The masterplan has been developed and will be implemented in line with specific objectives related to areas including protecting and increasing biodiversity, reducing energy consumption and increasing the use of clean energy, reducing water consumption, increasing the use of sustainable and low-carbon public transportation options, facilitating economic opportunities and creating a good business environment.

The masterplan sets the goal of achieving LEED Gold rating as a minimum requirement for all buildings, BREAM Excellent for infrastructure projects and public realms, and WELL Community Gold certification to ensure a focus on health and wellness.

The educational spaces and recreational areas are being implemented in a manner inspired by the Dubai Urban Plan 2040, and the new plan encourages the use of public transportation and mobility options with low environmental impact.

The axis (northwest-southeast) linking the Dubai Exhibition Center and the metro station to Al Wasl and Terra will be the main urban pedestrian axis, while a green ring will serve as the main pedestrian path through the surrounding natural spaces and into urban areas, and more than 70% of the paths will be shaded. To provide more comfort.

Nature-based design helps solve a number of challenges faced by the modern city, using native plants and biodiversity to reduce the impact of cloudbursts and floods, clean the air of particle pollution, and reduce emissions.

The new master plan maintains Expo City’s commitment to providing inclusive opportunities and experiences for all, and adherence to the Dubai Universal Design Code, in addition to international best practices, including mobility, acoustics, identifying accessible routes and facilities, as well as the use of smart technologies and digital solutions.

Expo City will incorporate practical and innovative sustainable technologies and will provide a real testbed for trying out new solutions in areas including transportation and agriculture.
