The Integrated Transport Center in Abu Dhabi announced the start of activating the service of paying parking fees for GCC vehicles via direct text messages, through a mobile phone number registered in the UAE, so that the fees are deducted from the customer’s account in the companies “Etisalat” or “Du”, while Text message fees are calculated according to the approved tariff, as part of the center’s efforts aimed at providing smart solutions for paying parking fees that raise the level of service and provide the greatest amount of comfort, time and effort.
The application hours for the “Mawaqif” system in Abu Dhabi start from 8 am to 12 pm from Saturday to Thursday, and the parking lots are divided into two types:
• Main parking lots in blue and white, with a fare of 3 dirhams per hour and a maximum parking time of 4 hours.
• Blue and black subsidiary parking lots, with a tariff of 2 dirhams per hour or 15 dirhams per day. For residents’ permit holders, parking spaces are allocated from 9 p.m. until 8 a.m., marked with a sign and/or a blue line for residents of the sector subject to the system. As for the parking lots in the villa areas, they are designated for permit holders who are residents of the villas only, and can be identified through their signboards.
The Center explained that the new service enables visitors to the country, citizens and residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, to pay parking fees in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, easily and conveniently, via the SMS service (on number 3009), and the fees are deducted from their available balance on the mobile phone, whether the customers are network users. “Etisalat” or “Du”, while the payment mechanism will be as shown in the following table:

He pointed out that all other payment methods are also available to visitors to the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, through payment machines spread across the city’s streets in cash or with a reloadable parking card, or through the Darb application, or registering for the “M Parking” service via the website www.mpark. .mawaqif.ae. In this regard, the Center indicated that this step comes within the Center’s plan, which aims to provide more options to enhance the role of smart systems in facilitating payment procedures.
