Flydubai launches daily flights to Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport

Flydubai starts daily Dubai–Bangkok Don Mueang flights, boosting UAE–Thailand links with Emirates codeshare, added Boeing 737 MAX capacity for summer peak.

Flydubai launched daily direct flights to Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport on Wednesday, expanding airline service in Thailand and marking the carrier’s second destination in the country after Krabi.
The Flydubai Bangkok flights inaugural service arrived from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport and was greeted with a traditional water cannon salute, underlining the carrier’s growing regional reach.

Inaugural service and operational start

The first Flydubai flight to Don Mueang touched down amid an official welcome, signaling the start of daily scheduled operations between Dubai and the Thai capital’s secondary airport.
The service is timed to meet rising summer travel demand and to offer both leisure and business travellers a new direct option from the UAE and the wider Gulf region.

Codeshare with Emirates enhances connectivity

Flydubai’s new Bangkok route is being operated under a codeshare agreement with Emirates, allowing passengers to book a single ticket and access coordinated connections across the two carriers’ networks.
The arrangement provides seamless transfer options for travellers connecting onward from Dubai to global destinations, strengthening Dubai’s role as a transit hub for trips between the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

Aircraft type and seasonal capacity boost

Flydubai will operate the route using Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, adding important seat capacity to the Thailand market during the summer and ahead of year‑end travel peaks.
The airline said the MAX fleet’s efficiency supports higher-frequency services while meeting demand for short‑ to medium‑haul international travel from the Gulf.

Passenger demand and tourism impact

Thai tourism officials highlighted the economic potential of the new connection, noting the Gulf market’s importance for high‑spend visitors.
Thailand received more than 188,000 visitors from the UAE and the broader Middle East from the start of the year through the end of June 2026, a figure cited by the country’s tourism authority as evidence of growing demand.

Executive remarks on trade and tourism links

Flydubai Chief Executive Ghaith Al Ghaith said the daily flights to Bangkok will serve leisure and business travellers while helping to facilitate trade and tourism flows between the two countries.
He described the route as a gateway designed to meet customer expectations and to support Dubai’s strategic position as a global aviation and tourism centre.

Network expansion and future destinations

The new Bangkok service follows Flydubai’s recent launch to Benghazi and precedes planned operations to Pokhara in Nepal, scheduled to start in September.
The carrier’s continued rollout of new markets reflects a broader strategy to open underserved routes and diversify its network footprint across Asia, North Africa and beyond.

Flydubai’s daily flights to Don Mueang are expected to provide travellers from the UAE and GCC states with additional scheduling flexibility and connection options, while giving Thailand’s tourism sector an extra channel to attract visitors during the summer peak.
